Manassas Adventist® Preparatory School

Mrs. Wilkinson - Principal, 5-8 Grades

Kelly Wilkinson grew up here in Northern Virginia and attended Southern Adventist University in Tennessee.

She moved to Louisiana to be near her husband’s family, while raising her three sons.   Soon after graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University, she accepted a job as a math and science teacher for high school and middle school.  She taught for five years, three of those years she also served as principal.  She spent several years homeschooling, catering, and helping her husband with his construction business.

Last year, Kelly decided to make the move back to Virginia to be near her family.  She is so happy to be back in the classroom teaching grades 6-8 at MAPS, sharing her passion for education and her love for Jesus.  Each child teaches her so much through their unique gifts and talents; she is looking forward to seeing these children develop into the disciples God plans for them to be.  Kelly plans on sharing her talents of baking and food creation in the classroom next school year.

Mrs. Lesley Jackson - Music

My name is Lesley Jackson and I have the privilege of combining my love for children with my passion for music and music education.
I hold
a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and have over 25 years of music education experience, both in the classroom and private studio.  It is my firmly held belief that all children are inherently musical.
Observation of the response babies have to lullabies, simple songs and rhymes sung by their caregivers, all testify to this.  Whether a child goes on to become a world-renowned performer or someone who plays for their own enjoyment and that of their loved ones,
music appreciation and education rooted firmly in childhood, builds a foundation for life-long music making.
